  • Overview

    DECISIVE ANALYTICS Corporation is seeking a positive, enthusiastic, problem-solving Project Analyst to join our team in Arlington, VA to support various DoD/OSD customers. This position will require regular interaction with program managers, senior technical staff, and senior Government customers, so we require candidates who are highly-organized, self-motivated, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide project control support to include planning, tracking, analysis and reporting with general supervision.
      • Maintain accurate budgets and projections for cost reimbursable and time and materials line items. Monitor actual costs against established budgets. Requires strong Microsoft Excel skills and problem solving background.
      • Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports on technical progress and financial status using Microsoft Excel and various inputs.
      • Develop and maintain dashboards displaying “snapshots” of contract deliverable quality and timeliness. For new dashboards, gather requirements, design mock-ups, and develop ways to automatically extract/load data into dashboards using existing tools.
      • Process travel request forms. Maintain accurate records of approved requests.
      • Review vendor invoices. Recommend approval of vendor invoices, or request corrections from vendors.
      • Assist with the creation of project plans and maintain Microsoft Project IMSs.
    • Support the creation of technical products and senior management presentations
      • Assist in creation of reports and technical deliverables through researching topics, technical editing, configuration management, formatting, and printing.
      • Evaluate others work for compliance with templates.
      • Coordinate with all levels of contract personnel to gather, analyze and prepare internal and external reports. Coordinate data calls.
      • Produce information for staff by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics.
      • Provide support for large and small meetings and events.
      • Organize, coordinate, and document weekly and monthly team meetings
      • Coordinate logistical arrangements including reserving rooms and AV needs.
      • Capture meeting minutes and actions.
      • Assist with registration, pre-registration duties, and the preparation of necessary materials.
    • Work with team members to identify and implement operational efficiencies and process improvements.
    • Prepares budgets, financial forecasts and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.
    • Monitors and reports performance against plans to ensure that contractual cost and schedule objectives are met.
    • Monitors the status of financial accounts, ensuring that task order charges accurately reflects the correct labor hours and rates, subcontractor costs and other direct costs (ODCs).
    • Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
    • Performs complex analysis of budgets and schedules needed to meet contractual/project requirements for assigned portions of a program or programs.
    • Monitors spending versus plan and notifies management promptly of any over runs/under runs.
    • Prepares financial reports, statements and estimates that are provide to the Government to ensure effective management.
    • Interfaces with management, responding to their requests for financial data.
    • Provides project management support and coordination.
    • Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree preferred. Analytical, engineering, finance, or social science degrees desired.
    • Excellent analytical skills. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Demonstrated experience with advanced functions, macros, conditional formatting, charting, pivot and array calculations.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, quality, precision, detail, and consistency.
    • Superior organizational, time management, and planning skills. Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment. Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming impediments and challenges in a time-sensitive environment required.
    • Professional demeanor and ability to communicate with various levels of management. Experience working for an office within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, or a similar environment is preferred
    • Knowledge of DoD acquisition policies and procedures is beneficial
    • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
    • US Citizenship required
